Welcome toThe Industry! Part of this category involves getting quotes if you are a user, and giving quotes if you are a business. Users and businesses both have rules they must adhere to in order to remain eligible for quote request interactions.
Requesting Quotes (User Rules)
1. Include Location in Title - Include an approximate location in your title. Ex Looking for 20x20x8 Carport Quote, Delivered to SW Indiana
2. Include Adequate Information - When you go to create a post, there is a template that is created. Please do your best to fill it out completely. It's okay if you are unsure of some things and want to leave those sections blank.
3. Do Not Include Contact Information - Please do not post your phone number or email address on the forum. This rule is in place for your security. If you wish to share your phone number or email address with a business, please PM them.
4. Make Sure Businesses Are Verified - All verified businesses will belong to a special group called @Verified Businesses . If a business does not belong to this group, they have NOT been verified and you should avoid speaking with them. If a business is pretending to be verified, please report them to @Spacebar.
Delivering Quotes (Business Rules)
1. Must Be a Verified Dealer/Manufacturer - To protect users, all dealers and manufacturers wishing to deliver quotes must be verified. Please visit Becoming a Verified Business, if you wish to become verified.
2. Include a Price - If the information the user provided is enough for a reasonable business to generate a quote, then you must include a price in your response.
3. Do Not Respond to A Thread More Than Once - Do not create more than one reply to a thread unless a user updates their quote request, or shares additional information. For example, if they wanted a 20x20x8 on dirt before, but changed it do a 20x20x9 on gravel, you may send a new quote.
4. Do Not PM Users - Do not PM users or ask to PM them. If you have a question, then other businesses likely do as well.
5. Treat Users With Respect - This goes without saying, but treat all users with respect. We understand the customer isn’t always right, but don’t be rude.
Note: You may ask clarifying questions, or for additional information in your response. If the user provided enough information for a reasonable business to give them a quote, then your response should include a price and follow up questions (if you have them). If a user didn't include enough information for a reasonable business to generate a quote, you do not have to include a price. Simply reply to thread with the questions you need answered. Do not ask questions that have already been asked and answered.
Report Rule Violations
Users or businesses in violation of these rules could be restricted from getting/giving quotes or permanently banned from the forum. Violations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Please help us in keeping the forum clean by reporting any violations you see to a moderator or site admin.
Questions, Comments, or Concerns
The rules are a work in progress and are still being fine tuned. The goal is to reach a happy medium for both businesses and users. If you believe a rule should be changed or removed, or you have questions, please contact @Spacebar.
